Borrowing Books

Books can be borrowed from any school in the district by making a request through the high school library staff, and their catalogs can be accessed from the district catalog link:

Books can also be borrowed from any library in the State. All inter-library loans (ILL) must go through a Librarian. Since it may take time to get books from other libraries, remember to look for them and order them as soon as you get your assignment. Please see Mrs. Krauze if you would like to borrow a book through ILL.

We have new magazines available monthly. Magazine and journal articles are also available online.

Loans & Fines

Books and magazines go out for two-week periods, and can be renewed. Reference books can go out overnight and must be returned by beginning of first period the next day. The fine for each late book or magazine is five cents for school days, and twenty-five cents for late reference books per day.

**Seniors with outstanding fines will not be allowed to purchase a ticket for prom or receive a cap and gown for graduation until all fines have been paid.**
Computers

Computers are available for student use before first period and after school. During the school day, teachers need to call first, and students must have a pass and assignment to come to the library. 

Students must use their Student Computer ID and password to use the computers. Your username is made up of the first two digits of your student ID (usually your graduation year), the first initial of your first name, and your full last name (all lower case):

The password is your ID number

No students can open personal email at school.

Online Databases

All Union High School databases are accessible from your home computer. There is a Remote Access information sheet available in the library for you to take home.

Printing

PRINTING for students is FREE.
 
Students can print from computers in the Library before and after school, or they can email their papers to be printed to Mrs. Krauze, Mr. Desimone, and Mrs. Bellantoni at:
 
 
Please email any work to be printed as an attachment. If your work is in Google, please share your work with Mrs. Krauze, Mr. Desimone, and Mrs. Bellantoni.
 
iWORK (Pages, KeyNote): Please make sure to convert any work to a PDF file before sending it for printing. We are unable to print Mac files in the UHS Library Media Center.
